Belarusian food competitive in Customs Union, Single Economic Space Print E-mail

April 2012, Belarus: Daily News
The Brest Oblast governor said: “We are not worried about the issue now because even before these new integration bodies were set up, the president and local level authorities had encouraged the production sector and agriculture to get modernized, to improve the quality of their products, to master new markets. Rather a lot has been done in this area in Brest Oblast”.
The head of the oblast administration believes that Brest Oblast products will quite be able to compete with the products to arrive as far as prices are concerned. There are some issues yet to be addressed. It is less true for the processing industry because food will always be in demand.

On 9 April 2012 New Zealand and Belarus marked the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Belarus and New Zealand are continuing to strengthen their political dialogue, trade and economic relations, aiming to realise the potential of successful cooperation on all levels.
We hope to enhance bilateral cooperation through our joint efforts  based on long-standing traditions of friendship, lifting it to a qualitatively new level. In late March a high-ranking delegation from the Republic of Belarus visited Wellington, New Zealand. During the visit the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Wellington Employers' Chamber of Commerce  signed a memorandum of cooperation.
