BelaPAN, Minsk, 8 May 2012. The government is facing the task of ensuring an export surplus of no less than $1 billion, Alyaksandr Lukashenka said Tuesday in his annual address to the nation and the National Assembly. “Moreover, no less than 65 percent of products should go for export,” the Belarusian leader said. “With the emergence of the Common Economic Zone [of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia], all conditions were created for that.” But Belarus’ exports should not be limited to the Common Economic Zone, Mr. Lukashenka stressed. “We should act on a large scale, throughout the world, where this is interesting to us,” he said. “We should enter new markets as a united front, not separately. Studying the market situation under the aegis of the foreign ministry and the ministry of trade should come first. Then a landing party of industrialists and entrepreneurs should follow with the support of the government.
